It was about the time that I, Katrine turned 43. It was autumn in Denmark and it had been a stressful summer, boring weather, a lot of work in our jobs and only 2 years in the new house still with some re-constructions going on. However, here we could all live with room for everyone.

Nevertheless, that autumn I started noticing strange emotions in my body and much as opposed to my personality, I felt depressed and was easily stressed. When I finally contacted our doctor, I ended up with a hospitalization and was given a serious diagnosis…!

Time went by and as we finally became aware on how I could re-create an optimum health balance, we had realized that we had to re-design our life totally for achieving our goals and fulfil our dreams and becoming happy again.

This meant that the classical setup with hours of daily commuting between home and long hours at a job was no longer an option for me. We had to find another way to make things work and the money to flow in my lane. Therefore, I started working from home only, managing my own time and taking the naps needed. Jens still working with projects within the corporate world.

ON THE LOOKING

Having a business where you need a constant flow of customers, takes that you do good and efficient Marketing. So how could I implement this and still work and be in a good balance with the limited energy I had at that time?

Luckily, I discovered a six weeks course about online Marketing. So I learned a some about the trends on Social Media and email marketing and My interest was fully awaken. A perfect mix of my skills in IT and being Creative.

Still, this is an ever-changing world and takes a lot of time with new programs and ever-changing setups; it can be hard work just to keep on track all on your own.

In October 2015, I noticed an advertise video on YouTube, introducing an education and build-in business platform for Digital Experts. A turnkey Business Concept but also a solution where we could keep implementing education and updates, and at the same time implement to our existing business.

At the end of December just 2 months later, I decided to take steps in a new direction, as being open to new solutions for designing my future worklife. Becoming an affiliate marketer would be a perfect fit to the already ongoing activities in our tiny consultancy and I felt empowered with the new opportunities to work online and worldwide as an affiliate marketer and becoming a skilled Online Digital Expert.

NEW DIRECTIONS

In January 2016, our life took a completely new direction! A project we had invested time and money into, did not work out as planned! We could no longer pay our mortgage and we had to leave our house!

Therefore, to be in charge of our new situation, we did make the decision to prepare the house for a sale. The things we would keep, went in a storage room, the rest went as donations to the local Salvation Armys Recycling Shop. Many tears dropped, but reality was that we no longer would need to house a family of seven people, because all our five children already had become adults and had since long left the nest.

Instead of being sitting and wait for a sale, we left the keys by the lawyer, filled our car with the most necesary and drove out of a grey and rainy Denmark. We started up our adventure with a re-design of our life, heading for a two weeks house sit in the South of France! What then happened are the stories waiting to be told here on our blog.

 

LIFE IN FRANCE

However, since then we have taken positive action on every offer we have been given. Meanwhile the house has been sold and we are living our life’s adventure with a far more balanced every day and haven’t returned to Denmark yet.
 
Living in a new country has brought new insights and given us loads of new friendships in a community very different from the one, we did leaving. We work as usual with consulting and coaching our costumers having the need for IT and marketing support. We operate as usual on-line, our meetings are still being done during a sip of coffee, but now by the screen and online via Skype or WhatsApp.
 
We spend the time we need working, relaxing and studying just like our buzy adult children. We are extending our knowledge and keeping updated on the tools for optimizing our online business. The best part is we have set ourselves free from the 9-5 job stress!
 
We prefer spending time with people with an open mind-set. We are outdoors in a much better climate. I appreciate doing some gardening and Jens has also taken up his former profession as a carpenter, as there is a request for this around us.
 
We are 100% in charge of our life. Every hour is spend on doing things that aligns with what we like to do. We support friends around us, and are enjoying our life in gratitude. You can imagine we sleep as babies every night!
 
We can reveal that one of our goals is to become those grandparents who have the time, energy and good health to immensely pampering, and able to being present and creating wonderful experiences and doing adventurous travels together with all in our family.
 
We found the perfect toolbox to set us free
By optimizing a part of our business to be online and beyond the limiting borders of a tiny country. We can now advertise all over the globe, and  AFFILIATE the same options to others, and show similar opportunity on how to get the freedom and do what we prefer most.
